RAW AFRICAN BUSH; Prepare to have your mind blown in Katavi amidst some of the greatest concentrations of large mammals in the world. In the rivers crocodiles and hippopotami are everywhere. As the season progresses and the rivers dwindle, crocs skulk into mud caves or pile themselves brazenly under shady trees. Then hundreds of hippos are forced together in ever smaller wallows. Tensions erupt. Sometimes only the strongest of them survive!

CHIMPANZEES, the main reason for making the journey down to Mahale is of course to see the

chimpanzees. Mahale is home to one of the largest populations of wild chimps, and Greystoke

has access to a habituated community known as the M Group.

Although the chimps are the main event, the forests of Mahale are teeming with a variety

of other primates. Camp is often visited by colobus monkeys and baboons, and plays host to warthogs and the rare blue duiker. And then there's the incredible forest flora and

bird life.
