Sheltered in a grove of palms on the shores of Lake Nzerakera, part of the watery byways of the Rufiji River system, Siwandu is perfectly situated to experience fully the breathtaking landscape and abundant wildlife of Nyerere National Park in Selous Game Reserve.
The Park is the largest in Africa, and so is the reserve, four times larger than the Serengeti, and bigger than Switzerland. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Selous’ riverine wilderness and diverse habitat creates the perfect environment for a wealth of animals and supports an extraordinary array of vegetation. Due to the local topography around Siwandu, it is considered the undisputed prime position for superlative game viewing & photography.

Luxury Bush Camp
Broadly spaced along the lakeshore, Siwandu’s superbly-appointed accommodation ensures maximum privacy and invites you to soak up the sights and sounds of Selous.
The camp is split into 2: north & south. With only 10 tents completed immersed in the bush, spread throughout the 2 camps so never crowded and easy for families to hire a whole camp exclusively.
From either of the wooden-decked verandas, sit with a cup of tea at sunrise, watching the bush come to life, or relax with a gin and tonic as the bush blushes under sunset.

Spacious Comfort & Style
The 10 spacious octagonal tents of canvas and secure mosquito netting, topped in thatch, not only allows for constant air-flow, but also enables guests to gaze upon the animals as they saunter past.
Observe the wildlife from the comfort of your luxurious hide-away, perhaps whilst reclining on the majestic king-sized bed under the overhead fan, or from the open-air stargazer, solar-heated showers which adjoin the en suite bathrooms.
All rooms overlook the lake, have a private veranda, outside shower, and private butler!

The elevated lounge and dining area, offer panaromic views across the lake as you enjoy a drink from the well-stocked bar or sample the chef's fine cuisine. See the gallery for a visual taste to whet your appetite for some Tanzanian treats.
When not indulging in the chef's talents or out on adventures, you may wish to take a plunge in one of the shaded pools and recline on the sun-lounger for the perfect "armchair safari".
